As reality goes through its epic dance, shifting and morphing to produce the effect of the new, there are necessarily moments everything feels turbulent. At such times resist the urge to panic and instead, acknowledge the turbulence is natural when undergoing radical transition, relax into it, breathe more slowly and deeply and tell yourself, ‘the Tao is arranging everything with supreme elegance.’
Repeat this over and over and imagine you can see the essence of cosmic intelligence glimmering at the heart of every atom comprising the reality you’re perceiving, as if the Buddha is winking at you from an infinite number of points, as if its presence at the heart of each atom is causing a movement of supreme elegance, causing all aspects to fall into shape with perfection, without you needing to intervene in any way.
When panic arises, simply note it and breathe more slowly, relax your muscles more, draw your mind back into the centre of your brain and remind yourself this reality is essentially benign and is merely doing what it’s doing to lead you to your highest good, even when it doesn’t appear that way. Remember the vantage point of your rational mind is not lofty enough to see the whole picture. Remind yourself, therefore, not to be disheartened by whatever limited view you’re enjoying.
This takes courage – the willingness to proceed with the adventure in spite of your fears – and if you’re willing to exercise it, the universe will invariably reward you in huge measure but you have to go through a test of nerves first, or the punch line would have no dramatic impact.
Hence the above advice. It will help you keep a steady nerve throughout the turbulence and cause you to be more measured and contained in your response and hence more effectual.
Relax, sink down within, lengthen your spine to hold you upright, draw your mind deep into centre brain, repeat over and over, ‘the Tao is arranging everything with supreme elegance,’ or simply, ‘reality is now organising itself with supreme elegance,’ carry on as you were and all will be well.
May all be so well for you today, tonight and through the weekend, it’s all you can do to remember what all the fuss was about.
Love, Doc
